About Us

I have always had a passion, and a strong curiosity for baking. I Love creating interesting and delightful treats that create a smile. There is magic in baking. The curiosity keeps me going everyday.

How The Love For Cupcakes Started

Growing up in a home where there was always activity, hard work, and lots of love. Creativity was strongly encouraged and welcomed.

Being number five of six children, I always had many mentors, and lots friends. Creativity runs thick through my family. It was my older brother who gave me my name of Bubba McGee at the age of five. All of us children have our own special talent.

My father taught me to focus on the details, to do a job well done, and the art and beauty that is in life. My mother taught me to sew, cook, bake, organize, and work really hard. Both my parents taught me about business, and the business of people. Owning several businesses of their own, they gave me a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

I discovered that I had an artistic talent, and a nack for business. This has helped me along the way to focus on the wins, and not the losses.

The Business

After a career in sales and marketing, I decided to focus on one specialty, gourmet cupcakes. With my High School sweetheart, business partner, and eternal companion we opened our shop in 2010. Everyday there has always been lots of hard work, more to be done, and lots of fun to be had while doing it too.

We have made ourselves different and unique, by creating our own style, by just being us. Giving people an experience that we wish to have. We have a strong sense of humor, and it shows in our cupcake names. Walt Disney, a hero of mine, is the master creator of ” the Experience.” Every detail is well thought out, and accounted for you. People want Disney because of the way it makes them feel. Some special memory Disney is able to spark. I wish to give that to others too, in the world of cupcakes.

It has everything, and nothing to do with the cupcakes. It is all about the experience, the feeling. I strive to create that little bit of Willy Wonka magic in others lives, even but for a few moments. The World needs more magical places, and more magical engineers.

My Vision

I am an optimist and visionary. I have been so lucky. Everything good happens to me. Winning Cupcake Wars was amazing! I lived that out in my mind a thousand times, seeing it all the way to the victory. Such an honor to meet, Candice Nelson,an icon in the cupcake World. She has been a great role model for me, and women in business. Florian,a true food critic, and a very sweet man. I was lucky enough to accomplish three things at one time that I have wanted to do before my life ends. I have also been lucky enough to turn my passion into a career. Do what you Love, and you will never work a day in your life!

What you put out, will always come back to you. At Bubba Sweets we always support within the community to help others as much as possible. Give, and you will be given.

I focus on my dreams and goals for the shop, for my family, and for me.Then I make a list, and break them down into small steps. When I start to feel over whelmed, I remind myself to focus on just the next step. How do you eat a big, fat, pink pig? One strip of bacon at a time! We have reached our goals that I have set for our shop so far, and.more to come for the future.

I look forward to the upcoming success as we have earned the title of ”Cupcake Wars Champions”, and open our second shop this summer. For in our success we are able to help others. Create new jobs, increase in the local economy.

Moving Forward

Many have asked,” Don’t you know there is a recession going on? Why do you want to start a business now?” I would reply, ” I know that what it is going on, I just choose not to participate!” Only the strong of spirit, and mind will survive. If we can do well in a down economy, then we will thrive in a prosperous economy.

Anything that the Mind of man can conceive, and bring himself to believe, he can achieve.- Napoleon Hill
